Ok, nessusports for FreeBSD doesn't use bpf's by default.

I thought FreeBSD (from cvs) used bpf server by default.

Are you sure? I thought so too.

Whats faster? rebuild kernel with dozens of bpf's or use the server?
target is fbsd 4.10, nessus 2.0.12.

The number of bpf's doesn't go in the kernel. You build the kernel
with the "pseudo-device bpf" then cd to /dev and run ./MAKEDEV
bpf+100.

See /usr/ports/security/nessus-libraries/files/README.BPF
