Which version of FreeBSD and which version of the port are you using?
The current port has this in /usr/local/sbin/nessus-update-plugins:

fetch_cmd="/usr/local/bin/wget"
fetch_args="-q -O -"

Not it says it has problems unzipping the file.

But it should be an easy fix.
