April 12, 2005 Automatic Download of XP Service Pack 2

I would be interested in hearing how others who have used the Microsoft
toolkit to disable the delivery of XP SP2 through Windows Update and
Automatic Update

x>  ) intend to handle the expiration of the blocking of delivery of SP2.

As the webpage states- Time is running out! Please note that the mechanism
to temporarily disable delivery of Windows XP SP2 is only available for a
period of 240 days (8 months) from August 16, 2004. At the end of this
period (after April 12, 2005), Windows XP SP2 will be delivered to all
Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems.

Most viruses these days use spoofed email addresses. As such, using an 
Anti-Virus product which automatically notifies the perceived sender of a 
message it believes is infected may well cause more harm than good. Someone who 
did not actually send you a virus may receive the notification and scramble 
their support staff to find an infection which never existed in the first 
place. Suggest such notifications be disabled by whomever is responsible for 
your AV, or at least that the idea is considered.
