As an update to this for resolution for you future Server sensor installers out there, all on windows The reboot worked. Process 1) install SS (Server Sensor) 2) reboot 3) install all updates no issues. New solution There is a package you can download and place into your deployment manager. It is the SP SS Repackage 4.3, It includes the 4.3 service pack and no reboot is required. 1) install SS 2) apply all XPU's works like a charm, have been through approx 60 SS installs so far with out a single hickup You problably have network monitoring enabled. Reboot the server and it will come up alright.... -----Original Message----- From: issforum-bounces@iss.net [mailto:issforum-bounces@iss.net] On Behalf Of Rob Barrett Sent: Tuesday, 17 October 2006 1:45 AM To: issforum@iss.net Subject: [ISSForum] Server Sensor install and update issue I am about to pull my hair out. Almost everytime I install a server sensor and do the updates to it it will begin to act strangley. this latest one - I installed the sensor, no problem Ran the first XPU's -no problem Installed the first servicepack, 4.3 it failes everytime with the following error *"Installation of update failed. ERROR: CommNotify - the wait for an event timed out. [ID=)xc7420010]* ** support has been little help, well none actually. I am sick of coping keys. anyone run into this or know of a solution. All ports are open. I believe they are TCP 902 and 2998.
