The Proventia G fully supports 802.1q traffic. No special configuration is necessary in most cases. However, if you are using the Proventia G in passive mode and feeding kill packets back into your network via a kill port, you may need to tune the sensor somewhat to produce kill packets that are compatible with your network equipment and the point at which you feed those packets back into your network. -----Original Message----- From: issforum-bounces@atla-mm1.iss.net On Behalf Of Hernandez, Marco Sent: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 1:08 PM To: issforum@atla-mm1.iss.net Subject: [ISSForum] 802.1q Support Hi All, Do you know if Proventia G support 802.1q standard? I mean, if I connect the G to a trunk port, does it will capable to decapsulate the VLAN tagging, analyze the packet, and encapsulate it again? Do I have to configure something special to the Proventia? Thanks a lot _______________________________________________ ISSForum mailing list ISSForum@iss.net TO UNSUBSCRIBE OR CHANGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, go to https://atla-mm1.iss.net/mailman/listinfo/issforum To contact the ISSForum Moderator, send email to mod-issforum@iss.net The ISSForum mailing list is hosted and managed by Internet Security Systems, 6303 Barfield Road, Atlanta, Georgia, USA 30328. _______________________________________________ ISSForum mailing list ISSForum@iss.net TO UNSUBSCRIBE OR CHANGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, go to https://atla-mm1.iss.net/mailman/listinfo/issforum To contact the ISSForum Moderator, send email to mod-issforum@iss.net The ISSForum mailing list is hosted and managed by Internet Security Systems, 6303 Barfield Road, Atlanta, Georgia, USA 30328.
