Well this is a simple SQL backup/restore proceedure.
Backup the ISS db by taking it offline and you can
even backup to another drive, or use tape (sometimes
not reliable)using the SQL agent. Then rebuild the SP
stuff from scratch, building the db..etc. Now (close
all SP consoles) restore the old db onto the new one.
Everything should be back where it was.

Cheese!

Well... The procedure to take back the DB after
reinstalling is not that
easy.

One important things is to backup the IDS key,
Sensor and component keys.

I don't think you will find on documentation how to
do this activity.

Some time ago we did a procedure to do that in case
of disaster, but I
didn't test it with SP5.

Ask iss support if the support a procedure to take
the db after
reinstalling.

Best Regards and happy new year.

Hi all,

I want to reinstall SiteProtector and all
components (Single Server) because my C: drive has
some bad blocks so it may crash any time.

I want to use my existing RealSecure database
after reinstallation, which is on the other hard
drive.

So please tell me what precautions I should take
before reinstallation.

Thanks and regards,
