The reason your daemon on the Internet Scanner installation will not stay up (it is trying to start and either failing or starting and going down) is because you are in an unsupported configuration. Internet Scanner and SiteProtector are not supported in *full* configurations on the same machine, meaning that the full installation of SiteProtector is not supposed to be installed on a system that has Internet Scanner on it, or vice versa. The "remote" SiteProtector console is supported and will run with Internet Scanner in a console/sensor configuration however as well as a sensor only configuration. Since the configuration you are attempting to get into is not supported, you will probably not have much support from Technical Support, and the only thing I could suggest if you must be in this configuration would be to Install Internet Scanner first and see if the SiteProtector install will accept the daemon already being installed, which is what is causing the problem you have since if the daemon is already installed it will not be installed on top of itself. Since Internet Scanner does not like the existing SiteProtector Daemon, the operation fails. Subhasis Dig <SubhasisD@hclcomnet.co.in> wrote:ISS Experts, Please help !!!!! I was installing ISS Internet Scanner 7.0 SP2 in the same machine as Site Protector. During the installation, It could not re-start the "issdaemon" and return eroor code 31. I had already re-started, but it still gave error 31 in Microsft Event viewer. and tried manual, with same result. Please Help !!!!
