Hello, My event collector has completely stopped responding aafter manually purging the database. The datbase had become full and had to be purged manually. The event collector was not stopped while purging the database manualy. Does this cause the event collector to stop responding ? Is it possible to unregister and re register the event collector ? Following are the versions I am using: Site Protector 2.0 SP5 Thank you Sachin On Fri, 4 Mar 2005 21:21:50 -0500, Go_ISS <greensand@gmail.com> wrote:
Peter, Almost any sensor or component update does not matter whether you apply the Service Packs or the XPUs first, or it will only allow you to apply one before the other becomes available (example: Core updates). If you are wondering which components to update first, a good general rule is to get your components up to date in this order (if updates are available for these components): - SiteProtector Database (because it is the heart of SiteProtector) - Event Collector (because in one case you need to do EC updates before you do Core updates) - Desktop Controller/Agent Manager, Deployment Manager - SiteProtector Core - Any sensor updates Note: If you are many Core Service Packs behind -- for example, on SP2 or before -- you may consider uninstalling SiteProtector and installing a clean version of SiteProtector Service Pack 5 (which is downloadable from the Download Center). Keep in mind, if you do this, you will lose all of the data in your database. I only say this because there are a LOT of updates between then and now -- it depends on whether you want it to go fast and don't mind losing your data, or want it to go slow and want to keep your data. _______________________________________________ ISSForum mailing list ISSForum@iss.net TO UNSUBSCRIBE OR CHANGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, go to https://atla-mm1.iss.net/mailman/listinfo/issforum To contact the ISSForum Moderator, send email to mod-issforum@iss.net The ISSForum mailing list is hosted and managed by Internet Security Systems, 6303 Barfield Road, Atlanta, Georgia, USA 30328.
