Is this a bad thing or a bad bad thing ?

Personally, I think that if it isn't stopping and saying "Wow dude,like this
is a major new release, do you want to go with it?" and giving them the choice
of staying on 6 or going to 7, that's rather impolite.

And it's *very* impolite to not say "Please back everything up" before going
and totally replacing a piece of the operating system that you swore on a Bible
in court was a "totally integrated, can't be removed, you're screwed if it
isn't functional" component of your system...  that's basically a "no warning,
no lubricant, no time to grab your ankles" install....

Of course, most of their users seem to believe that if that didn't happen on
a regular basis, Microsoft didn't love them anymore....
