Yes Spybot is a good one for the home user.
This is also the only place it is meant to be free, if you are using it
in a corporate environment then you are going against the ULA.

If you pay for the use of it then yes it is a possible solution.
Could you point out this new admin suite as I am unable to find it on
their site

Well I beg to disagree.

The track record of most big AV companies has been very poor when it
comes to there ability to produce a decent product.
Also the fact that more than likely as in the case of Symantec, you
will
still have multiple licenses you will have to struggle with and will
also most likely be in a separate console.

For "most large companies" I would rather have a product that works
with
no holes than a second rate product in the same post reactive engine
as
most big AV company products.

IMHO I would rather stick with a product leader than a big name.

As we're talking of product leaders...
Seen from the desktop view, one of them surely is Spybot Search &
Destroy, which is additionally as cheap as it gets: Freeware.

Safer Networking, its vendor, has recently developed an administration
suite, too. This is not free, but still very cheap, and may be a good
choice for those who do not mind having to manage seperate AV and
Anti-Adware solutions, even more so if equipped with a limited budget
and still look for a hard to beat solution (if combined with an
infrastructually suited Antivirus solution).
