Agree with all the comments on Pest Patrol - we tried that one. Spysweeper - we also trialed this (although admittedly very quickly and with just about no time to mess with it) and did not get great results - in particular, this was too resource-intensive on client machines. Maybe we didn't configure it well enough - but performance was awful. --- GuidoZ <uberguidoz@gmail.com> wrote:

When it comes to centrally managed and works, it's the only solution I've found yet. I wasn't aware of new stuff from Sunbelt. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it after testing it. (Feel free to email me directly if you don't mind, or just send to the list.) I'd also have to agree with Evan on Pest Patrol. It's GUI is just plain clunky and annoying to say the least. (That is, for an uber tweaker like me. =D ) Good reporting capabilities is VERY important for the powers the be (read: employer/boss/etc) to realize the need for such a product. I've been recommending Spysweeper EntEd for such cases for this very fact. -- Peace. ~G On Wed, 17 Nov 2004 10:32:18 -0500, Evan Mann <emann@pinnaclefinancial.com> wrote:There are 3 that I know of, and I've tested two.#3 will be availablein beta soon. 1) Pest Patrol Corporate Edition v5 - Extremelybasic GUI, very poorreporting capabilities. Sunbelt sells Pest PatrolCorporate but have notreally pushed it, probably because of it's poorGUI (just a guess). Ithink CounterSpy is going to be a really goodproduct and pricing looksvery attractive $240 for 10 users but pricing perseat as low as $10.Sunbelt is calling it the second generation ofenteprise spyware. Theyhave a home version, so the enterprise version isobviously based onthat. I will be testing CounterSpy Enterprise whenavailable and hopefully itperforms. -----Original Message----- From: Patrick Jordan[mailto:patrick_jordan2003@yahoo.com]Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 11:51 PM To: focus-virus@lists.securityfocus.com Subject: Manageable Spyware Solutions? Has anyone found an antispyware product that iscentrally manageable, doesn't chew up crazy levels of resources (onserver and client), and isstill highly efficient at catching latest spyware/ malware variants? We've tried a couple of the products from earlyentrants in this area, but they've been pretty unimpressive - butmanually running Spybot /Ad-Aware combo on workstations also seems a losingproposition.Have a feeling this topic has already been done &dusted, but anythoughts much appreciated ....
