Can you setup a VPN between the two sites? This would allow everyone to authenticate against the "P"DC. Maybe a DC in the remote site isn't a bad idea as well. jmb -----Original Message----- From: listbounce@securityfocus.com [mailto:listbounce@securityfocus.com] On Behalf Of JEaton@RBauction.com Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 2:18 PM To: focus-ms@securityfocus.com Subject: Re: Re: Sync Domain Account password and Local Account password The issue I have is we have users that need to go to a remote site. (No network connection back to head office) The user connects to an isolated network and then needs to connect to an old application. The old application synchronized ID and Passwords with the domain controller every week and stores the information locally within the old application. The Local account ID and password is then checked against the ID and password within the old application. One of the issues are that a user may only go to a remote site once a year and the local password is out of sync with the old application. Our users have a hard time changing their local password hence the reason to synchronize the AD ID and password to the local ID and password. Thank you for all the comments. James
