MS06-013 Cumulative IE Update (912812) Issues

Subject: MS06-013 Cumulative IE Update (912812) Issues

Just a quick heads-up for folks using Active-X controls in Office
applications: Though MS06-013 is an IE update, installing this patch breaks
certain Active-X controls when used in Office VBA (i.e. Access)
applications.

Specifically, Kodak Image Controls (installed either by Imaging
Professional, or Office graphic filters) are killed if used in Access after
installing this patch. So far, there is no work-around other than
un-installing 912812. Stand-alone usage (VB,etc) seems to be unaffected.

My guess is that there will be minimum impact, as I'm not sure how many
Access projects are in use with unsupported Active-X controls, but if you
deploy solutions in this manner, you should definitely test your apps before
rolling MS06-013 out to the masses. 013 is a critical update - WU updates
will probably already be applied, as will WSUS installs set to automatically
update critical patches.

I tried several other controls without incident, but the Kodak controls are
definitely FUBAR'd by the patch.

FYI-
