I'm currently reviewing ce-infosys as well and have had very good
results with it. It also has a very extensive set of features including
an IP phone client, VPN, etc. It can encrypt entire volumes or single
files and has the ability to handle USB storage devices and writable CDs
as well. I've been running it on my own laptop for about 6 months and
the only side effect I've seen is that occasionally the mouse tends to
get hypersensitive.

I am looking into encryption for laptops. Specifically, I like the idea
of only encrypting one of two partitions (the non-OS holding partition).
This partition would hold data and programs for the user, and the
unencrypted partition would hold the OS. =20 Is it simple permissions to
force users to write data (including swap and all temporary files) to
the encrypted partition? Essentially, for the user the OS part would be
read only.
