It is a registry hack (assuming XP) -

wish to enable it in AD users and computers.

Hope that helps,

Actually that's my main problem. I've been trying to find
the checkbox for the log on using dialup connection, but it
is not there, even after I hit the options button. Is there
something in specific that needs to be done to enable that option?

This is a client who doesn't want to spend money if possible,
so they're trying to use the tools that Windows provides.

Ryan,

I'm trying to answer this from memory, so double check it
before you implement it. :-)

* Create the VPN connection in XP's Network Connections
folder while logged in using the cached profile.
* Log off
* On the logon screen, open the options section
* There should be a checkbox to authenticate using dial up
access (which includes using the VPN over a high speed
Internet connection)
* Check the checkbox and login.... it will pause as it
creates the tunnel and then authenticates off of the DC.

I think that's it.

Hope this helps.

Keith

Subject: Integrating Domain and VPN Login

I'm trying to find a way to integrate a login to a VPN with a
domain login.
Users at a remote office currently login using a cached
profile then manually start a VPN connection using the client
included with XP Pro.
These machines are then authenticating to the Windows 2000
server at the central office. I know in NT4 there was a
check box for dial up authentication to a domain, however is
there anything similar to this for XP to allow seamless
integration of these two logins? I tried setting the VPN to
login using the Windows credentials and putting a shortcut in
the startup folder, however the VPN connection does not start
that way for some reason.

Ryan
