Hi Charlie, Your boss may have used the Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer, http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sam/msia.mspx but I think that might just do Microsoft programs. I have seen other inventory programs out there, and Microsoft's say on it is at http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sam/aspx/findtool.aspx.
