Xcacls is used for ACLs (NTFS permissions), not attributes. The attrib command also will not let you set compression or encryption attributes- these are advanced attributes. However, for the original poster, I would ask what is the reason for the need to disable compression- perhaps there are other options. Of course, you could always just encrypt all the files and then they wouldn't be compressible. ;-) Laura
