Well, for the "ICF" firewall, yes... but don't forget about the "Basic Firewall" option of RRAS, which provides robust in/out, stateful firewall capabilities.

Currently the configuration options for the firewall in Server 2003 look
just like that of XP pre SP2. If you allow a port, then it's allowed to
everyone. Where as in XP SP2 you can define through IP address exactly who
you want to give access to - much more like a true firewall, but it's still
only outbound :(


We won't see these advanced features in Server 2003 until Microsoft releases
the first Service Pack.

Not yet. Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 is supposed to bring it up to speed with Windows XP SP2.

features / overall security posture to XP SP2?



Although there's probably a bevy of XP SP2 items embedded in 2003, I
would imagine there's a bunch that's not...
