I installed SP2 on several machines on my domain am monitoring closely for
application issues. We all know it is enabled on Network and Dial-up
adapters by default. It does have File and Printer Sharing enabled on the
protected Network connections after install. I however don't see this as an
exploit or bug, but just another detail to remember to check if you don't
want it enabled after install. I think the editors just poorly explained the
article or jumped the gun too quickly.

This article in pc-welt was brought to my attention
yesterday, and I just
have no idea what they are talking about. It is
like the entire piece is
totally bogus-- has anyone seen anything about this?

I think you're right. I read through the first two
lines of the SP2 "issue"...this "certain
configuration" they're talking about is essentially
allowing file and printer sharing, even with the f/w
enabled. Uh...duh!
