I had 2 firewall problems in the past 3 months. New system built with Solaris
9/NGXR61 and I had my whole system panic. After 3 MONTHS I got a reply from
Checkpoint that it was something in SmartDefense that caused the panic and they
would have worked with me if the system was live - yeah.... I had put my old
system back online in the meantime NGR55 and after doing a Smartdefense update
had my system begin to reboot intermittently. That was 6 weeks ago and I've
since rebuilt the other system and put it back online with NGR55. When I asked
if I could rollback SmartDefense - response - you can't rollback SD. So...what
you can do is play around with the SD choices to find out which one is really
affecting your cpu performance. I'd take a look at MS-RPC over CIFS because I
had cpu issues with that one before. Good luck!
