I guess you want to compare the firewall part of PIX with IPTables right?, because PIX does much more than firewall part as you may be aware of. It depends on what you need as a FW. PIX Acls are easy to understand, use and versatile than IPTables IMHO. But IMO, I would rate OpenBSD Pf as first, followed by PIX, then IPtables if you are comparing FW feature set of PIX, but as I just said it is my opinion.
