Hi Wai,

I would recommend to go for Appliance based IPS.
If you consider the IPS module of Radware, it got one of the best IPS
technologies and I would strongly recommend to go for Link Proof ( Link Load
balancer ) with IPS module Or with Link Proof ( ISP load balancing ) and
Defense Pro ( IPS )
Well, adding IPS module in Link Proof is the same as you Add an IPS product
in your network. Because the performance is still the same after you adding
the IPS module too.

Please go through the below link which would talk about the latest IPS
technology from Radware.

if you need any info, please revert back to me.

Subject: Software IPS/IDS vs Appliance

Dear all,

I'm looking at implementing an IPS/IDS in my network to guard and monitor if
any suspicious traffic and if my current security setup has any loopholes.

What do you think between software based IPS/IDS (such as ISS or other
brands) and appliances IPS (any recommendation?)

My supplier strongly recommended appliances, we thought of getting a radware
link load-balancer so can add on the IPS module as a solution. But what are
the pros and cons between these two types?

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks!
