We are using a MS DNS and with our current setup blackholing with DNS isn't quite as simple as it should be unfortunately and we can't use host files because of some unique setup issues. Regardless we were able to successfully block MSN and Yahoo by using etherreal and blocking some class C subnets as well as putting in several DNS names into Surf Control. So far these class C subnets have had no affect on other Yahoo services such as the main page or other core features.
Is IM-use is the real problem or it is the bandwith it uses ?
