Hi there,
dsluser@emirates.net.ae wrote:Blocking Skype Using Squid and OpenBSDNice writeup. But why? Why block Skype? It it really worse than MSN or GoogleTalk? Has anyoen demonstrated serious flaws in Skype that could threat security? There has been bugs, and there have been patches. But that is SNAFU for all networking apps.
Well, as for me, it is quite easy to explain. Skype turns your pc into a supernode which routes other people's traffic over you. I guess this can get some networking people into serious considerations about it, especially if you pay for traffic.
What is it about Skype that get some network/security people all worked up?
