PIX does have fiber cards... I'm not sure about Copper.Be careful with the PIX. I have a PIX 525 that sits on a shelf now because it could not handle a gig link. The PCI 33 (or was it 66?) mhz bus was the limitation, IIRC. I now run a linux firewall at the location on high end Dell hardware and it handles more than I can throw at it with multiple syskonnect gig interfaces.

I've done Gig links successfully with Checkpoint on Nokia (you'd want 1220 or higher), and Netscreen (NS2000 or higher). Those models will support more than the throughput you need. The Nokia 710 claims 1.3GB, but I've seen backups tank a firewall so you will want to pad that a bit. I have no idea what can do what you need in PIX-land.

Hi List,
I do a lot with firewalls - Checkpoint, Netscreen, Cisco, etc. - but
have not yet needed a firewall that can do gigabit line speed.
Does anyone have a suggestion which product might be best to secure a gigibit link? I don't need an excessive rule base, the machine just needs to secure the gigabit at line speed. Huge backups run over this wire, and the firewall needs to controll which machines access the backup landscape and how.
Thanks!
