Believe or not I found a article that relsoves the Black Screen for VNC and RDC To resolve this issue turn off "bitmap caching" on the Experience tab of the Remote Desktop Connection properties. This option is enabled by default for all connection speeds and will cause this problem from certain remote clients. I do not know what causes this problem, but this is the way to solve it. I realize this is a application issue but I'm the firewall admin and when things don't work the application people blame the network admins. I hope above info is useful Thanks Roger. ________________________________ From: Roger Richardson Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2005 10:03 AM To: 'firewalls@securityfocus.com' Subject: Sidewinder and Remote Desktop Connection Microsoft ? I'm wondering if anyone experiences intermittent connection problems using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection running through a Sidewinder and Cisco Pix. If the connection is made it works great. Its like the session doesn't release and you get a black screen the next time you connect. I know I know we should be using VNC or something more robust, hey I do not make those descions. Any help or Ideas would be great. Thanks Roger.
