Re: Honours Project - Ideas?

Thanks to all who are continually helping me. All the information given and
thoughts provided are really assisting me in refining my ideas and deciding the
direction to move forward in.

No physical hardware has been selected for the project yet. I wanted to get the
ideas down and then go from there. But as some of you may know from replies I'd
like to work with a Linux based machine running an Apache server. Hopefully
also working with cisco routers.

More than anything I'd like help in my research. The honours project is going
to consist of an enormous literature review and dissertation which will be the
heavily marked portion of it. I know that my honours project is based on white
hat hacking, specifically attacks on servers/firewalls/routers and
resolutions/efficient refinement for this. But does anyone have ideas as to
where I should explore for the rest of my dissertation. Should I consider
hacking as a general topic? Should I be researching technologies and including
them in my dissertation?

Any help on where the dissertation should focus would be fantastic.

Thanks

Asim
