Hi,

I need help with one question which has been troubling me for weeks, I have
done some research but did not find anything satisfactory. Request all to see
if they can help me in this

Is it possible to have a traceroute which shows internal IP addresses as one of
the Hop? If yes, what is the reason for this. Since Internl IP addresses are
constricted to an specific organization, does this mean that the traffic is
router through the organization.

Something like this (only the IP addresses are present)

202.23.12.13
202.23.12.146
203.121.3.32
...........
192.168.0.10
192.168.0.123
203.12.93.211
..............
..............

Tyler,

Yes it is possible to have private addresses show in the output. This
is because all IP addresses are routable, but the RFC1918 reserved
addresses(& other IP blocks) should be filtered at the egress/ingress
of each site. There are many small ISP's and some larger ones who use
and don't filter these addresses. What you see is the ouput from some
of these sites.

Robert
