Wouldn't a layer 7 attack that is blocked by the application layer firewall (behind) result in the stateful inspection firewall in front redundant? barcajax On 14 Sep 2005 17:43:59 -0000, at gmail <joekim13@securityfocus.com> wrote:
As far as enterprise firewall goes, you generally want to stick with Checkpoint for Netscreen/Juniper. PIX firewalls are good but the 7.0 which has application inspection is a bit to late in the game and don't belive the product is as mature as Checkpoints Application Intelligence, or Netscreen/Junipers DeepInspection. An ideal solution would be to have a stateful inspection firewall lup front which could handle bulk of the traffic and then have a proxy or application layer firewall inside. Feel free to contact me, Im certified with Checkpoint, Netscreen and Cicco on their firewalls and have exp. w/ over 500 implementations. Joe Kim CCSE, NCSA, CSPFA joekim13 (at) gmail
