As far as I know, the PIX IOS is completely proprietary and you will not be
able to download it.  That and I doubt that vmware has an emmulation for
Cisco IOS.  Sorry.

Hi List ,

I am making a document  "Test Protocol Firewalls" where shown the results of
tests of commercial Firewalls like :CheckPoint and Cisco PIX  :

- Firewall -1 R55+ HF 13  running SecurePlatform.
- Cisco Pix  IOS 6.3  o   7.0

My network environment is :

- External  ( Attack Server)
- DMZ ( Webserver vulnerable  without last patch of apache.......Honeypot)
- Internal  (Here  It will be syslog Server)

-For CheckPoint I just have installed the Firewall Module and Smart Center
in two different virtual machines running in vmware workstation  5.0.0
build-13124 and
the SmartDasboard running in the Host  Windows 2000. All is working very
well ...is fantastic the vmware.


-For Cisco PIX I really have problems because I have not PIX, so my question
is if  Anybody know if I can download the PIX IOS 6.3 o 7.0 and then create
new virtual machine and execute my  "Test Protocol Firewalls" .

I will appreciate your coments and when I finished my tests I will be
sharing my resuls with you.
