What kind of Line is between A and B?  Is it a dedicated line or shared?
Is it possible that the line is "dirty"  and packets are being dropped
along the way?  I've heard of Core routers (fiber) being dirty and
causing connectivity issues.  Could there be a port speed mismatch on
the internal side of either which may be causing packet loss and thus
dropping the tunnel?

I'm no pix expert so excuse me if my suggestions are off base.  Just
offering whatever came to my head.
