hi, Yes, the SG575 does support DynDNS. I assume that what you mean by support dynamic DNS is that DynDNS clients are available on the firewall for you to connect to your DynDNS service provider. SG575 do have the built-in SynDNS client which support a number of DynDNS service. The VPN functionality covers support for IPSEC, L2TP and PPTP. All the DynDNS and VPN configuration can be easily done from the web GUI. The only drawback which most SG575 users feel is the iptables(firewall) logs. To normal user, especially those who are not familiar with iptables, the logs are not very user friendly and difficult to configure. regards, Rick On 4/13/05, Daniel Kirschsieper <d.kirschsieper@log-it-gmbh.de> wrote:
Hi everyone, one of my customers needs a firewall with VPN but they do not have a static IP-Address with their internet connection and I doubt they are willing to pay getting one. So I am looking for a small device, maybe with DMZ port, that supports DynDNS. My favourite one, esp. because of the price, is a Cyberguard SG570 (former Snapgear) but I am not sure if it provides DynDNS functionality. The other option I have explored so far is a Netscreen device. So does anyone of you know if these firewalls support DynDNS and if not, do you have any other suggestions?
