Problem connecting to CheckPoint using SmartDashboard

Hi All, 

I've installed a CheckPoint client (Smart Dashboard, if i recall
correctly) on my machine and tried connecting to the firewall.
Consistently I get an error (below). A collegue then tried to connect
via their machine by installing the client, only to get the same error
(below).

Connection can not be initiated.

Make sure that the Server 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' is up and running.
****************** ERROR END HERE ******************

However when trying to use the same client from a different machine,
which was the original machine (original IP) used to administer the
firewall it would connect fine.

I have found an article on client replication so more then one operator
can administer the firewall, however it involved additional
configuration on the firewall box, which sounded a bit strange to me, so
I decided to ask here before I screw something up.
