You may give the answer yourself!

It is not a matter of convinience...

You have to hack two machines to get into the secured network in the
DMZ-scenario. (You used different passwords and software on these two
firewalls didn't you?)

Yes I think to have pix facing to internet and Iptables facing to the internal network. My problem is a Telecom engineer that rebates my original project saying to my client that bastions are better and that there are no need for the iptables internal firewall. I need more arguments to defend my position.
