The only problem you might experience is that sometimes the timeouts on the
VPNs don't exactly match between the Checkpoint and the PIX. (We deal with that
a lot where I am.) Just remember the command
Clear crypto isakmp sa
And type that once per week or so, and you'll be golden. PIX is a great
platform. Very stable.

PIX firewalls are very reliable. I maintain a handful of them and the only
time I have to reboot them is when I load software updates on them. I have
never had any hw/sw problems with them.

Hi all
in the company where i work we manage a network with some sites
connected
through vpn tunnels. we have two nokia IP 350 in the central site and four
Checkpoint vpn1 edge in the remote sites. Due to reliability problems we
are going to replace the Checkpoint firewalls with Cisco PIX 501. the remote
sites will be connected in vpn over Internet to our Nokias for about two
months, then we will remove the IP350 and we will establish vpn tunnels
over a private Frame Relay to Cisco PIX 525 in the central site.
Does anybody know any hw/sw problem about both PIX models? do this PIX
models
have any reliability problem?
