We have many 501 and 506's deployed and never have a problem. It's if
we need configuration support from Cisco that would have us buy a
SmartNet. I think the 501's are $419 at CDW.

I've used PIX 515's and 525's for years and started using 501's since
shortly after they came out. No problems what so ever. If you're
worried about reliability, buy a spare (they're cheap enough)...unless
you need the tech support - the SmartNet for the smaller PIX's (501 &
506) really isn't worth it because hardware wise, it'll run a good long
time.

months, then we will remove the IP350 and we will establish vpn tunnels
over a private Frame Relay to Cisco PIX 525 in the central site.
Does anybody know any hw/sw problem about both PIX models? do this PIX
models
have any reliability problem?
