We have many 501 and 506's deployed and never have a problem. It's if we need configuration support from Cisco that would have us buy a SmartNet. I think the 501's are $419 at CDW. Due to reliability problems we are going to replace the Checkpoint firewalls with Cisco PIX 501. the remote sites will be connected in vpn over Internet to our Nokias for about two months, then we will remove the IP350 and we will establish vpn tunnels over a private Frame Relay to Cisco PIX 525 in the central site.
