Hi,

Unless a hardware firewall/router is a requirement, you could check out OpenBSDs implementation of CARP. This allow the server to share routing information between two or more servers and automatic failover.

http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=carp&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath=OpenBSD+Current&arch=i386&format=html

Cheers,

Harald
