Re: Checkpoint Backup FAQ!!!

I am going to assume you are running the enforcement
module and smartcenter on the same box.  I always use
the utilities suppled by Checkpoint for
upgrades/backups/restores.

Install the utility and run upgrade_export, you will
supply a filename and it will back up all of your
checkpoint configuration into a tgz file. You go
through the normal splat installation and
configuration of Checkpoint. An d the last thing you
do is copy over the tgz and run the upgrade_import
utility and it restore the environment.  You will need
to configure your secondary splat with the same
hostname/ip addrress.
