Well there's quite a few different solutions. I don't have practical experiences with them but I know that they exist and a few things:

Use commercial prdouct bundles: Antivirus + Firewall. I know that u can have that from norton, panda probably trendmicro and most of the big antivirus companies. Central Management is provided but it's costly.

In case u have Windows XP Computers you could consider using the built in firewall. The one of SP2 should be pretty good and is centralized manageable via administrative templates. The cheap solution.

In case you use linux (which you probably don't) you have plenty of free solutions which should meet your requirements.

Hope it gave u a point in the right direction. Unless you have linux or Windows XP on your Computer it will cost you a few bucks...

We’re in the process of looking for a personal firewall solution to use
within the corporate environment. We have firewalls on the perimeter of
the network; however, we need a solution for laptops and potentially all
clients. We need a solution that can centrally manage over 1000
workstations. Any solutions you would recommend or experiences whether
good or bad with the ones out there would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
