Are you looking for a firewall failover solution or a redundant router
solution?

The PIX provides a nice fail-over solution.

If you're looking to failover between two circuits (to combat a circuit
outage), then I'd simply suggest a route with two circuits. If you're
looking to add hardware redundancy, you could put a router with redundant
power supplies (to two different power sources). Or you could use two
different routers running a standby protocol (Cisco's HSRP comes to mind).
You could even increase that redundancy by using Cisco's HSRP with BGP to
two different providers.

Hope that helps,
Roy

Subject: FW failover solution

Hi List,

I'm looking for a product that can sit in front of a Firewall (between FW
and Internet) and allow for 2 internet connections, one to sit idle as a
hot/warm/cold standby to the main connection?

We are looking for a tool that is geared towards the SME market.

Has anyone got any experience with any products that can do this?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
