As FWSM is based on PIX it seems likely, but i can't find documentation for this.Is FWSM really based on the PIX? PIX was produced by some company which was acquired by Cisco. FWSM is firewall stuff tacked onto IOS. While PIX has an IOS-like config language, I believe it isn't IOS.
I think you've confused FWSM with the IOS firewall feature set. FWSM ( Firewall Services Module ) is a blade which can be installed into a 65xx chassis, it is based on the PIX code and generally has identical functionality although its software revision numbers aren't the same as PIX, and its feature set seems to be a couple of minor revisions behind current PIX code. I would suggest opening a Cisco TAC call to answer the original question. -- Kerry Thompson, CCNA CISSP Information Systems Security Consultant http://www.crypt.gen.nz kez@crypt.gen.nz
