  F5 FirePass 4100 Multiple XSS
------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

" <http://www.f5.com/products/FirePass/> 5's FirePass  SSL VPN appliance
provides secure access to corporate applications and data using a standard
web browser."

Improper handling of user input allows attackers to execute XSS using F5
FirePass 4100.

DETAILS

Vulnerable Systems:
 * F5 FirePass 4100 version 5 and prior

Immune Systems:
 * F5 FirePass 4100 version 6

Some writable form fields and hidden fields can be tricked by using
hyphens to include and execute mobile script code. This flaw can be used
to pass the code into another users browser session.

Classic script injection techniques within a browser session can be used
to exploit this vulnerability.

Because authentication front ends are affected too, this vulnerability is
serious for every secure environment. Non-authenticated users might be
able to exploit this flaw to gain elevated privileges (e.g. extracting
sensitive cookie information or launch a buffer overflow attack against
another web browser).

Disclosure Timeline:
06/08/06 Identification of the flaw
06/23/06 Falsification in version 6.x
07/04/06 Public advisory
