Improper validation of path inside archive files allows attackers to execute a directory traversal attack using IZArc. DETAILS Vulnerable Systems: * IZArc version 3.5 beta 3 and prior The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when extracting files compressed with GZ (*.gz), JAR(*.jar), RAR(*.rar), ZIP(*.zip), TAR(*.tar) . This makes it possible to have files extracted to arbitrary locations outside the specified directory using the "../" directory traversal sequence.
