Ideally I'd like to be able to open it on another windows box and capture screen prints of the events. Any clues from this group?
Hi Jeff, I have ran into this problem before. For the case we were working on, we were under a time-crunch and didn't have time to experiment with new tools or methods and validate their accuracy, so we just mirrored our working copy of the drive in question onto a fresh harddrive, and booted the system. From there we just exported all of the logs, with the system's own event viewer. Not pretty, but it works. Another option might be using a general parser: http://www.whitehats.ca/main/members/Malik/malik_eventlogs/malik_eventlogs.html The page also has links for windows-only parsers, that you might have more luck with if you don't want to try the guy's PHP script. cheers, tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- This list is provided by the SecurityFocus ARIS analyzer service.
