I seem to recall that Apple played some funny games with the
floppies - rather than a constant angular velocity and 18 blocks
on each track inside to outside, they had a drive motor that
could change speeds, so they ran constant *linear* velocity,
got 18 blocks/track on the innermost tracks, and a bit higher
on the middle tracks, and something like 30 blocks/track on the
outermost tracks.

If this is the case, you'll need hardware/software that's capable of
doing the Apple speed tricks....
