Can anybody tell me the difference between ISF standard & ISO 17799/27001 ?

ISO covers a broader range.

ISF is freely available.

Other than that, both of them are fairly similar in style.

Which is better to implement?

Probably not much to choose between them.

Which is more widely recognized?

At the moment, ISO would have the edge.
