| Subject: | [CISSP-D] CISSP skills transfer; beyond the certification game |

While strong emphasis remains in the CISSP certitifcation (hence the
first letter of CISSP), we must keep our focus on the core asset behind
all of this, which is knowledge, skills and experience beyond passing
the exam and getting the certificate.
In an extreme debate on this issue, as an employer if Iam to choose
between a CISSP certified person lacking adequate experiences, skills
and maturity and another qualified security professional with the
proper knowledge, skills and experiences but without the CISSP
certification, I - as an employer - would go for the latter choice.
Iam not against the CISSP scheme as such, but I am surely against the
commercialization and commoditization of this great discipline,
speically when you see individuals getting the certification through QA
drills and memorizing past exams.
Finally, as we are launching a CISSP skills transfer program, I would
like to open the dood for individuals interested in sharing their
knowledge and experience with the rest of us. This will be a 2-way
give and take initiative where the more experienced professionals help
the relatively new comers into this discipline.
Regards to all ....
