Henry,

Boy do I know how you feel. Security seems like a Dr. visit to most execs --
I.E. they don't wanna do it, its expensive, but they need it. The best
experiences I have had when discussing security with folks was when I could
break things down into dollars. I've asked people what an hour of lost
production time would cost, or a day or a week. I remember a meeting where I
watched a gentlemen turn grey when it finally sunk in to him how much not
having a recovery plan could cost him, and how long it would take him to get
over it.

I think sometimes, it takes a close scrape like the one you mentioned below
every now and then to get people on board. It is a shame but most operations
run full throttle all the time these days. They don't want to stop and think
about anything ancillary to task of producing "the product". I am always
successful when I can tie initiatives to the product and seldom successful when
I can't.

Dave
