Good day, When you refer to active content, you make reference to code that allow you to have a better surfing experience with rich content. In the family you will find ActiveX from Microsoft, and Javascript from SUN. Of course some of these addon language have introduce some security concerns. Do look at the following URL for information on active content: http://www.cccure.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1 PRIVACY and INFRINGEMENT (not fringement) Privacy is something that more and more internet and corporate users are being concerned with. How do you ensure that you anonymity is not violated while online, just think about those spyware that sometimes you get on your computer. Here is a description from one of the internet encyclopedia (remember a search engine is your best friend while studying): For citizens and consumers, freedom from unauthorized intrusion. For organizations, privacy involves the policies that determine what information is gathered, how it is used, and how customers are informed and involved in this process. Privacy is a legal issue, but it's also an information security issue. Customer outrage over stolen credit card numbers, for instance, is a privacy problem brought about by inadequate security. Infringement can take many forms, here is another definition from the web: Violation of intellectual property rights, such as unauthorized use of a patent, copyright, trade-mark, industrial design or integrated circuit topography. Often also includes a misappropriation of a trade secret or confidential information. A successful infringement claim against you can result in the payment of damages and an injunction preventing you from your infringing use of intellectual property. Take care Clement Hello, Can any computer informatin security gurus help to define these two terms: 1.Active content 2.privacy and fringement Thanks in advance! Yahoo! Groups Links Yahoo!
