Re: [CISSP-D] COI and the ISC2

ISC2 creates, defines, and refines the CBK.

My concern in the value of the certification can be eroded by the
appearance of conflict of interest. A code of ethics is paramount
within the CISSP certification, so a story that reflected this
apparent conflict would get headlines and snickers.

The real interesting thing here is the ISC2 passed the ISO 17024
requirements for certification bodies. Does anybody know what is in
those requirements to prevent such a conflict of interest. ISC2 told
me that they had a difficult time here but changed enough such that
it was OK.

So if it is OK now according to the ISO, does the ISC2 training have
any implicit value over other training prima facia? Probably not,
but it is still billed as if it does.
